Jamie, My Intentions Are Bubbles

A couple weeks back we highlighted a high-octane bubble shooter.
The "fat man" of the bubble arsenal, it comes on wheels and carries a gallon of back-up bubble juice.
You can sit back and bathe in a lite bubble rainfall...but good luck wheeling a 40 pound metal machine around the festival grounds.
Make your fleet more flexible with these kid-friendly firearms from BUBBLE BLASTERS.

The road to festival freedom is paved with soapsuds.

Wood-row Wilson and the Treetop Band

16 days until the navajshowdown in the desert.
16 days until the pilgrimage to the humble fields
...where the bond between man and music takes root.
Sturdy as stone :: Strong as wood.

And if there's anything we know about wood, it's that it likes to go home...back to the outdoors.
Put that wood...and your friends...in their proper places with accessories that remind us of the ground from which we all sprang.

Our friends from this New York based retailer GOOD WOOD preach the gospel of “let me put my wood upon your body”.

Friends are just friends in everyday clothing…but whipping out the wood makes them family.
Ok, enough family jewel jokes.
Just come together and pack your saddles with some of these.

Good Wood…white wine…come alive in the daytime…and make it last all night too.

I can't break the cycle
Am I just a fool?
Falling down like dominoes
Hit by family jewels

(16 days - I SAID IT!)

Wolf-Snake On Your Face

Don’t wait for a special occasion to wear a wolf-snake sweatshirt.
The day you wear your new wolf-snake sweatshirt…THAT’S the special occasion.

Check out these threads from the Navajo-friendly fellows at MISHKA NYC

A million dollars isn't cool...you know what's cool?  A wolf's head with a snake tongue on a sweatshirt.

Weathers turn to grey
Life in the shade
A violent cloud
And that's on USA

I'm just trying' to find
A mountain I can climb

Foot Soldier for the Army of Tomorrow

Shoes are the vehicles by which the nomad traverses the world.
Whether nomadic by nature, by choice, or just on occasion, the materials that connect humans to the terra-firma beneath them are equally practical and symbolic.
Here is a new release for the spring and summer that would make my extremities proud.
Get grounded with something special from VISVIM.

We are always running
For the thrill of it, thrill of it
Always pushing up the hill
Searching for the thrill of it

Hello.

Just a little note on this Tuesday to say hello.
Helloooooo!!!
Hello not to the dreamers but to the purveyors of truth.
In 17 days, in the desert, I intend to seek it.
There's nothing abstract in this quest...this is tangible, feel it in your hands, wrap it around you, look it in the eye truth.
Let us raise our glasses, or whatever we have in front of us, and toast to fun and freedom that await the seekers.
See you in April.

Be alright...ya' you'll be alright

Lucid Reality

Hi.
I was in Philadelphia this weekend!  Boringggg city!
Saw the Liberty Bell and ate a cheesesteak sandwich.  WAhoOOI!
Ok.  Let's get back to it.
We are in the teens here with our Coachella countdown.
It's time to take a step back and admire from afar the things that we hold dear on occasions like this.
We have our music and we have our gear...but what we need is perspective.
Take a snapshot...keep taking them.
Let the camera be passed around.  Let it document the festivites and let it elevate them... through images immortalized on paper, to be handed down to the generations that follow.
See, be seen, watch, listen, learn.  Be lucid...in a multitude of formats.

Easy to find a cool camera at Amazon or at any Urban Outfitters
Think Polaroid or Lomography to get things flavorful.

Dubshtoop

He's 23.  He's from LA.  He plays Coachella Friday.
His name is Skrillex, and just so you would remember, he made a song called "My Name Is Skrillex".
So you never forget, he remixed his own song.
Here is "My Name is Skrillex" (Skrillex remix).
That has more X's than an adult video shop!
Give a warm Navajo handshake  (do you KNOW what a Navajo handshake is??...let's just say it doesn't involve hands) to SKRILLEXXXXXXxxxxxxx.

Don't forget.

Hello again, to all my friends, together we can play some rock n' roll.

Kool-Aid For You!

Join Cults:
They are fun and communal and can brainwash you with their trance inducing messages!
Of course I'm referring to the band out of New York with their 60's-tinged pop, who will be making their Coachella debut on Saturday April 16.

Listen to their new song.  Tell a friend.  Have that friend tell a friend.  And they'll tell a friend.  And...
Soon the whole world will know.

**Note:  Cults must be art savvy.  Their cover art calls to mind one of my favorite artists, Robert Longo
Art meets commerce.

Cotton Warrior

If you leave everything else behind this festival season and focus only on one thing – for Navajo’s sake – make it about the t-shirt.
The t-shirt is your introduction.
The t-shirt is the preamble to your personal declaration of independence.
The t-shirt is your totem pole.
...Well, your totem pole is your totem pole, but the t-shirt is a great symbolic thing too.

I can lead you to water on this one, but I can’t make you drink.
You will have to discover this on your own.  When you find the right shirt, you will just know.
Let my message inspire, and instill in you the importance of this perfect wardrobe artifact.

You can start with these from TITS and  COLTESSE
Pretty...nasty!

The King of Hearts

Heart Is King.
Axwell’s new song is set to be released April 4, just in time for a drop in the desert.
If heart is king, as the title professes, Axwell is the on-site cardiologist; a medicine-man for our time inspiring people to dance and heal with tribal rhythms that transcend techno.
Hiyawatha hiyawatha hiyawatha.  Make em dance to this.  Make them – make them – make them dance to this:

Hey I'm back and I'm part of a human race
'Caus you know I've been down so long
Never thought I'd ever feel this way again
And everything was going wrong
Til you found me and you make me believe again

Under Cover

NAVAJOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

You are no stranger to the outdoors.

The traditional Navajo hogan, or dwelling pueblo, is just one outpost in the greater terrestrial homestead of the indigenous people.
The true boundaries of their home are marked only where earth meets the heavens;
Where the atmosphere separates the natural living room from the great unknown beyond.
Growing up on a grittier surface you can learn to appreciate the beauty of the blanket.
Find a pattern that you can party with at Pendleton
Take it with you.  It might just be the perfect thing.

On this March 22  you can also wrap yourself in the THE STROKES new album released today.

We've got the right to live, fight to use it,
I won't just be a puppet on a string.

Pandamic

Don't know if it pertains to anything in particular...
Just the coolest sweater in town.
Something for when the sun goes down...the latest from Sibling London

**Note the panda pattern with the KISS influence.
Music and mammals in perfect harmony.

I need you baby to warm a lonely night.
I love you baby. Trust in me when I say it's ok

Changing Shapes (Hiding from places)

Naabeehó!
This Monday we mark 25 days until music’s migration desert-ward.
This movement is a retreat in two ways:
A retreat from our offices and homes and cars and socially acceptable behavior.
But it’s also a retreat as in a return, a back-peddling, a reconnection with our primordial nature.
Don’t let modesty stop you when it comes to fulfilling that animal instinct.

Take it up a notch with these Animal face masks available on Amazon (an aptly named resource!)

Get one for each member of your crew and roam the plains together...as a heard, a gaggle, a school, a drove, or whatever floats your boat.

1 2 3 4 we must lock the door
5 6 7 8 we must evacuate
9 10 11 12 we must prepare for
13 monsters

BEAT ON!

Here's a little treat with 28 days to go.

Making their Coachella debut on April 17, and with a new release today...Let us say "HOW" to JACK BEATS

BioLuminescence

The 16th century painter Caravaggio, it is speculated, used a powder made from dried fireflies to add a photosensitive surface on his canvases.
Let us look to the firefly for a moment, things that glow, and making our canvases bright.
Natural selection has evolved in certain species the ability to emit light...the firefly for example is an organism that uses this trait to make itself as aesthetically pronounced as possible.
It aides in the process of sexual selection, and provides an alternative means of communication between potential mates.
Certain branches of the species based in tropical climates can synchronize their lights among groups in a phenomenon know as phase synchronization.
Glow-in-the-dark courtship can start with neon paints purchase-able at Amazon or Oriental Trading
Paint yourself.
Let’s help evolve our own species and synchronize phases together.
Let’s turn occasional flashes into steady glows and make this April’s habitat a more colorful place.

Friday at Coachella: Make it happen at MAGNETIC MAN.
Click that and feel the glow, Navajo.

 Electrify my body
And you're makin me feel
Like I'm so electric
Everything you do is making me
Glow glow glow

Don't know what to do about it
Can't see how to live without it
All I wanna do is just
Know know know

BYOB

Diamonds are a girl's best friend.
Backpacks are a Navajo's.
They are an essential items for at least one member of your crew.
Take your provisions with you with these new releases, available at Barneys and Eastpack.
There is nothing worse than running around the festival grounds with heavy pockets, and a well designed backpack will alleviate the burden of the party that you're bringing with you.
Take the lead this festival season and designate yourself the backpack carrier.
Make sure to pack all the essentials, but then top it off with a few fun suprises.
It's always fun when you can pull tricks out of your sleeve...and even better if they're coming out of a beautiful papoose.

Carry your weight :: hold your wampum

Body Art

Tanto,
Béésh bee njinéego hálaʼ da jiigish!
It means: Presenting yourself is about what you wear, and also what wears you.
Tattoos are ancient form of self-expression.
Here's a little number that got plastered on my Navajo Brother, my "she'sheneh", on our Tiesto trip last month.
It's only temporary, but the memories are much longer.

Nothing like a little clown on your neck to let people know you've arrived.

Ahbínígo tłʼóóʼgóó chʼínáshdááh:  "it comes off in the shower"

Get your stamp :: make your mark.

You set me free, my body's yours
It feels the best when you're involved

I want you to take over control
Take over control

Fuck you AND the horse that your rode in on!!!...Actually, take it easy on the horse - it's not his fault

Navahos and Navabros- came across this sick saddle bag from our friends at Indian Traders.com.
They're not really friends, but their gear is so nice they should be!  More like kindred spirits.
It's called a drifter bag and it's for you drifters out there...or people with appointments...either one.
Great for packing anything and everything.
Your journey awaits.

Remember: A horse is NOT a home.  It never is.

Pendleton Chinle Drifter Bag

  • Size: 18" Wide - 14" High - 9" Deep
  • Colors featured: Red, Orange, Yellow, Black and Turquoise
The Pendleton Drifter bag features two external pockets, one zip the other a magnetic closure.
This bag is imported by Pendleton Woolen Mills.

Jean Goodsprings and a Pocketful of Secrets

A great year-round item that might ruffle a few feathers on the festival circuit is the iconic jean hoodie.
This particular one has a zipper that screams "I GO ALL THE WAY!!!"

Blublockers to boot -

Gentlemen and Navajos Buy Here: BluBlockers

You've got a mouthful of diamonds
And a pocketful of secrets
I know you're never telling anyone
Because the patterns they control your mind
Those patterns take away my time
Hello, goodbye

I wish I could believe...

Howlin til the Coachella Moon Rises

There's an old Indian saying: "you are what you wear".
In this case I would be a coyote.

Fun festival-wear:

COYOTE SHAMAN WAR BONNET HEADDRESS

"Tonight...God is DJ"

...So said Martin Solveig as he took the stage at this year's Sensation White in Belgium.

Another deity took the stage at music's Mt. Olympus last Sunday.
His name is Chuckie and he will be joining the pool party in April.

Here's his set.
Study up.
See you in the Desert.

Moccasins and Moccasinners

For festival feet:

New pics of a very intricate Nike Court Force High recently hit the Net. Inspired by Native American culture, the "Native American" Nike Court Force High features a Patent Leather/Textured Leather/Cracked Leather upper interwoven with traditional Native American prints on the tongue and under the clear body overlay. The "Native American" Nike Court Force High also features rawhide laces with beads and a spearhead at the ends.

Hiya Wathaa!

The Strokes new album is streaming.

Strokes. streaming.  it's the Navajo way.

 THE STROKES - Angles

Dear Navajo Nation -

A little Indian brave who before he was ten,
Played war games in the woods with his Indian friends
And he built up a dream that when he grew up
He would be a fearless warrior Indian Cheif
Many moons past and more the dream grew strong until
Tomorrow he would sing his first war song and fight his first battle
But something went wrong, surprise attack killed him in his sleep that night

And so castles made of sand melts into the sea, eventually

DOGSTEP!

Air sun dust and shades of green
Noble warrior bubble machine
A new Spring moon begins its phase
Fun in the desert......in 32 days
